"Autumn" Japanese-Calligraphy (Seal script)



"秋" (shū,or aki). It is translated in autumn.
This character is written by Kanzi, Seal script.

  2. This ideogram is probably formed by 禾 (=grain) plus 火 (=fire). Thus, "Autumn" in Japan's mind should mean the end of the harvest, isn't it?

  3. I think I like the bolder look of the regular script better...but it is interesting to see them both! I think it must be difficult to learn and know both!!
