"Snow" Japanese calligraphy

"" (setsu, or yuki). It is translated as snow.
This character is written by Kanzi, Regular script.

The original character is "䨮"
Etymology : 雨 (rain) + 彗 (broomstick)

The original meaning is sweeping the ground.
The person who devised a kanji is a poet, surely.

  5. In Boston there have been four fubuki already. Today I will be shoveling. Thus, would it be all right for me to use your beautiful image and explanation of the Kanji for snow on my facebook page with, of course, a link to your blog? I do not see a "share on Facebook" on your blog. Best,

  6. It looks like a person to me, maybe somebody could be cleaning there.

  7. These days it looks like there is a man hugging the rain. I guess he must have been a cloud in ancient versions of the character.
