"Hope" Japanese calligraphy

"" (bow, nozomu). It is translated as look at, hope, etc.
This character is written by Kanzi,
Regular script.

Etymology : Ideogrammic compound
(minister) + (Expand)
The state that a person stretches his/her neck.

(moon) + (lose)
It looks like "moon" sees the distance.
It looks like "lose" looks for a few thing.

Compounds :
希望 (hope, wish), 望郷 (homesickness, nostalgia), 欲望 (greed, desire)

Yes. The man continues looking for a few something.
It may be human essence.

However, as for strong "Hope", there is a case to be realized sometime.
Of course there is often the case that is not so.

It may be often that there is the cause of the human failure in "greed".
Ironically, there is the example very a LOT.
