The legendary snow-white village

The villagers keep this life about 1000 long years.
 Great descendants...

The loftiness of the human is maintained.

A lot of steep mountains shut in them.
The way such as the thread leads to the village.

It may be good that don't look back on the course came.

 Quietness.
There is the world without the noise.

 and the human origin.

Here is Shirakawa-gō ("White River Old-District"), Gifu Prefecture.

  11. This village got a partnership with the city I'm living in. Every year trips from and to compiègne and Shirakawa are organized. We even welcomed a student for a few days. I wasn't lucky enough to be part of the latest trip to Shirakawa but I dream of visiting there someday !

  16. Wonderful, Ruma! Especially the first photo make me think to Switzerland! Even if I know there is snow in Japan, I haven't imagine it like that. But it is everywhere? What about Kyoto zone? Do they have also such snow there? Or it is only in mountainous zones?
