Shichi - Go - San ( seven-five-three )
Shichi-Go-San is a traditional rite of passage and festival day in Far east.
For three and seven year-old girls and three and five year-old boys, held annually on November 15.
Shichi - Go - San is said to have originated in the Heian Period (794-1185) amongst court nobles, who would celebrate the passage of their children into middle childhood.
The children wear the kimono which was various colors.
Chitose Ame, literally " thousand year candy ", is given to children on Shichi-Go-San.
It is long, thin, red and white candy, which symbolizes healthy growth and longevity.
A girl has it. The behind boy wears a white Tabi and Hakama.

"祝" (shuku, or iwau). It is translated as celebrate, congratulate, blessing, etc.
This character is written by Kanzi, Semi-cursive script.
Etymology : Ideogrammic compound
示 (show) + 口 (mouth) + 儿 (kneel)
The person who serve God.
To tell joy to God.
Children are holy.
Or they may be messengers of God.

Girls' "Sweet" Day
The set of ornamental dolls "Hina-Ningyō" stood in line.
It is a thing to celebrate Hina-matsuri (Girls' Day March 3).
In a show case, I see the cakes which seem to be delicious and delicate.
This is the traditional decoration.
Each doll has various roles.
The season is going to come this year.
This shop is the long-established store of Japanese sweets (Wagashi).
The salesclerk puts on a clean cowl.
Her traditional style treats the heart of the customer.

Celebration chrysanthemum and Congratulations little girl
The shape. The color. They float in the calm space.
The flower language of the chrysanthemum is "Noble".
It is used as a crest of the Emperor of Japan.
The exhibition is opened at main Shinto shrines, others places of the whole country.
It is given glory to innumerably.
Because the cultivation process is too precise, I cannot imagine it.
The children have the Shinto priest purify.
It will become her valuable memory.
The chrysanthemums are exhibited carefully.
This splendid stage is the blessing for both chrysanthemums and children.
Please look at traditional culture of Japanese children if you have little time.

Small stylish tradition
The children are dressed up with the Yukata.
It is said that the yukata was created in the Heian period about 1000 years ago.
You may have worn it in the Japanese hotel.
The scenes and manners of the Japanese summer.
Today is the Bon festival dance meet (Bon Odori).
The children have the traditional toy.
The warm night has been passing coolly, and cheerfully...
They harmonize with various folk songs and dance.
The friends enjoy them together.
This happy night will become their good memory...

Shichi-Go-San pray in a Shinto shrine

Parent and child go and worship at a Shinto shrine or a temple.

It is the moon thanking for finishing gain in November of the old calendar to God by the crop. On 15th that was the day of the full moon of the month, we served as the thanks of the crop to the patron saint and thanked for the growth of the child and came to pray for protection.
