　The set of ornamental dolls "Hina-Ningyō" stood in line.

It is a thing to celebrate Hina-matsuri (Girls' Day March 3).

In a show case, I see the cakes which seem to be delicious and delicate.

　This is the traditional decoration.

Each doll has various roles.

The season is going to come this year.

　This shop is the long-established store of Japanese sweets ( Wagashi ).

The salesclerk puts on a clean cowl.

Her traditional style treats the heart of the customer.

Here is Ginza, Tokyo.

Shichi - Go -San ( seven - five - three )

Shichi-Go-San is a traditional rite of passage and festival day in Far east.

For three and seven year-old girls and three and five year-old boys, held annually on November 15.

Shichi-Go-San is said to have originated in the Heian Period (794-1185) amongst court nobles,

who would celebrate the passage of their children into middle childhood.

The children wear the kimono which was various colors.

Chitose Ame, literally "thousand year candy", is given to children on Shichi-Go-San.

It is long, thin, red and white candy, which symbolizes healthy growth and longevity. A girl has it.

The behind boy wears a white Tabi and Hakama.

Here is Tomioka Hachiman Shrine, downtown area of Tokyo.

" Autumn " Japanese-Calligraphy ( Semi-cursive script )

" 秋 " ( shū,or aki ). It is translated in autumn.

This character is written by Kanzi, Semi-cursive script.

Etymology :　Semantic

秋 ⇒　禾 (grain)　+ 束 (bind)

The meaning harvests the crops, and bundle it up.

Autumn is the season of the blessing.

The abundant leads people to the joy.

" Last Samurai " existed, Kaishū Katsu

勝 海舟 :　Kaishū Katsu  ( 1823 - 1899 )

The vassal and scholar of the Edo Shogunate,  politician after the Meiji Restoration.

Every Japanese knows his name, even now.

　　　He was the master of Japanese sword ( katana ) , had getted the full mastership (Menkyo Kaiden).

　　　However, he seems to have never cut down the person throughout his life, 

despite always encountering the danger of assassination.

He was too strong, excellent, and sublime that the enemy was overwhelmed and unable to even move forward.

If pointed the katana at Katsu, the moment the man will definitely fall to the ground with the katana.

 All knew it would happen.

His sword sealed not to bring down any person.

There was no need to remove it.

　　　The true samurai had tough spiritual strength, and divine power.

The samurai era ended with him.

You can see how fast the master's "drawing sword" is in this video. 

In the olden days, if a samurai drew his sword, the enemy would fall at that moment.

It is very difficult to stand up to the masters. The man can't even get a hold of it.

The samurai of the Edo period were far superior to the modern masters.

This character is written by Kanzi, Regular script. 

　　Etymology :　It is composed of two characters.　

　　　 世 (generation, earth, etc.) +  界 (boundary, area, etc.)

　　　" 信 " (sin). It is translated as true, trust, faith, etc.

This letter is written on the paper, square cardboard for drawing called "sikisi"

Girls' lovely Day with " Festival " Japanese calligraphy

The Japanese Doll Festival (Hina-matsuri), or Girls' Day, is held on March 3. 

Platforms with a red hi-mōsen are used to display a set of ornamental dolls (hina-ningyō)

representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress.

The custom of displaying dolls began during the Heian period (since about 1200 before). 

The official decoration consists of five or seven steps. 

Each position is selected as each role.

Girls celebrate it while eating cakes in front of hina-ningyō.

These dolls are succeeded to carefully by ancestors from generation to generation.

Therefore they have the very long history.

"Seven-Five-Three (Shichi-Go-San) " is an annual event of the children.

In most cases, they wear a luxurious kimono.

The hair ornament is lovely.

The love is eternity.

Warmth of the hand, the smile are so, too.

Celebration chrysanthemum and Congratulations little girl

　　　　The shape. The color. 　They float in the calm space.
　　　The flower language of the chrysanthemum is "Noble".

　　　It is used as a crest of the Emperor of Japan.

　　　　The exhibition is opened at main Shinto shrines, others places of the whole country.
　　　It is given glory to innumerably.

　　　Because the cultivation process is too precise, I cannot imagine it.

　　　　The children have the Shinto priest purify.
　　　It will become her valuable memory.

　　　The chrysanthemums are exhibited carefully.

　　　　This splendid stage is the blessing for both chrysanthemums and children.

It is said that the yukata was created in the Heian period about 1000 years ago.

You may have worn it in the Japanese hotel.




The scenes and manners of the Japanese summer.
Today is the Bon festival dance meet (Bon Odori).
The children have the traditional toy.

The warm night has been passing coolly, and cheerfully...




They harmonize with various folk songs and dance.
The friends enjoy them together.

This happy night will become their good memory...

Shichi-Go-San pray in a Shinto shrine

Parent and child go and worship at a Shinto shrine or a temple.


It is the moon thanking for finishing gain in November of the old calendar to God by the crop. On 15th that was the day of the full moon of the month, we served as the thanks of the crop to the patron saint and thanked for the growth of the child and came to pray for protection.
