This character is written by Kanzi, Regular script.
Etymology : Compound ideograph
止 (stop) + 少 (few)
This character is a pair of the hieroglyphs of the right foot and the left foot.
The state that both legs move in turn.

Etymology of 歩 is very interesting and speaks loudly. I feel a lot of a stream of movement in this 漢字.
