　The set of ornamental dolls "Hina-Ningyō" stood in line.

It is a thing to celebrate Hina-matsuri (Girls' Day March 3).

In a show case, I see the cakes which seem to be delicious and delicate.

　This is the traditional decoration.

Each doll has various roles.

The season is going to come this year.

　This shop is the long-established store of Japanese sweets ( Wagashi ).

The salesclerk puts on a clean cowl.

Her traditional style treats the heart of the customer.

Welcome to the classic world...

Here is Ginza, Tokyo.

ZEN Temple Eihei-ji in Winter

 

　

　Eihei-ji Temple is one of the oldest temples belonging to the Zen Soto sect which the priest Dōgen did a founder.

　It was founded to 1244.

　These outskirts are famous by having very much snow.

　Here is Eiheijicho, Fukui Prefecture.

　The Zen priest wears only a thin shoulder-worn robe (It seems to be very cold all day life, other Zen temple's link).

　And they sit in contemplation zazen without heating with bare foot.. before the daybreak to going to bed.

　The getting up is about 3:00. The bath is about once a week.

　The meal is "ichijuu issai " (ex.). Boiled barley and rice, miso soup, a side dish, a pickle.

　It means it "One soup One vegetables". Another helping? No!

　It may be difficult a little even if anyone is going to train oneself in this temple.

　Because the ascetic practices are very severe for a body mark and mind.

　And there is this temple distantly in a remote deep mountain from the town.

　If the exerciser gets tired of ascetic practices, he needs his life and courage to escape.

　Snow is piled up more than 3 meters in winter here.

　Therefore most the application is sent away even if they propose ascetic practices.

　It is called "turning away at the door" called Japanese "Monzen barai".

Shichi - Go -San ( seven - five - three )

Shichi-Go-San is a traditional rite of passage and festival day in Far east.

For three and seven year-old girls and three and five year-old boys, held annually on November 15.

Shichi-Go-San is said to have originated in the Heian Period (794-1185) amongst court nobles,

who would celebrate the passage of their children into middle childhood.

The children wear the kimono which was various colors.

Chitose Ame, literally "thousand year candy", is given to children on Shichi-Go-San.

It is long, thin, red and white candy, which symbolizes healthy growth and longevity. A girl has it.

The behind boy wears a white Tabi and Hakama.

" Girls ' Day , March 3rd" Japanese Doll Festival

　　　The Japanese Doll Festival ( Hinamatsuri ), or Girls' Day, is held on March 3.

　　　A set of ornamental dolls ( hina-ningyō ) representing the Emperor, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period.

　　　The custom of displaying dolls began about 1200 years ago.　

　　　The official decoration consists of five steps.

　　　Each position is selected as each role.

　　　I show respect for Lady in the whole world.

　　　Era when the talent of all women was utilized has come.

　　　And the world will become more peaceful if the status of women worldwide improves.

Drift ice From the Sea of Okhotsk

Now, my front 1 n.m (about 1.8 km) is Russian territorial waters.

The aim of the coast guardianship may be locked on my forehead.

I am at the Abashiri offing the place of about 2 n.m, Hokkaidō.

Drift ice flows through here every year from the Sea of Okhotsk.

The water which flowed from the Amur River lowers salinity of the seawater.

Salt was drained by the process when it was frozen.

It occurs in about the end from the middle of January.

It comes alongside the pier from the end of January to about the beginning of February.

The sea is completely covered with drift ice until about the end of March and cannot navigate the ship.

The seal does child care on drift ice with a few natural enemies.

Birds such as White-tailed Eagle or Ezo red fox are carried on drift ice, and come over from the Siberia to East Hokkaido.

Photo plankton sticks to drift ice.

When it is spring, the photo plankton multiplies at a stretch.

Animal plankton increases to bait in this and does the fishing ground of the Sea of Okhotsk wealthily.

It is the working of the west Pacific from the winter to the spring.

　　　In this area, shorelines are complicated. Therefore we can watch interesting molding of the Nature.

　　　It is the very inconvenient sterile zone where most of the people do not live in. On that day, it was space without waves, sounds.

The carp streamers bless children " Children's day may 5th "

In the Far East, the carp is an auspicious fish.

They had continued swimming the festival history more than 1000 years.

Many wishes to the happiness are displayed here.

Now, I am seeing wind.

The carp streamers ( Koinobori ) are swimming in the deep blue firmament.

Time, Space, Existence, 　 Eternally.. 　Stream of Universe...

Oriental spirit had carefully treated all element of the universe for several thousand years.

We might know it in subconscious awareness.

Till now, and for everlasting...

The season of " Okunchi " comes around.

 

  The opening night of the festival.

    

" Karatsu - Okunchi " festival since 1661 " Hikiyama "is made with lacquered. 

There are 14 of them in all. 

The red lion of the first " Hikiyama " was made in 1819.

It is held for three days. ( 11/2 ~ 4 ) 

Here is Karatsu-city. Karatsu citizens will be excited again this year,too.

Children's Day with " Faith " Japanese calligraphy

Japan has historically have continued the custom of celebrating children in May.
Decorating room with kimonos and brave dolls.

It is a national honor that men are brave.

No matter what world we are in, we have the soul of the noble SAMURAI.

The carp is the good luck symbol of rising.

This character is written by Kanzi, Regular script.

　　　Etymology :　Ideogrammic compound

　　　 人 (man) + 言 (words or say)

Meaning and form of this character has been very well fusion. This character will feel the solemnity to us.

The eyes of various people watch the illusion of instant.
The space is ephemeral...

That is why. Anyone loves this brightness to waver.

The flower arrangement is golden decoration drawn in darkness.
The petals are scattered immediately.

The wind lets the branch of the brown willow hang over the universe.

Karatsu Kunchi festival " Enjoy " Japanese calligraphy

This festival began in 1661.

Construction began in 1819 for colorful floats.

There are a total of 14 decorative floats.

They walk through the old town for three days.

November 2 to 4 every year.

All of these floats are designated as historically important cultural assets.

Traditional craftsmen keep these cultural property

using precious materials and outstanding workmanship.

Here is Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture.

 " 楽 " (gaku・raku). It is translated as music, comfort, enjoyment, etc.

   This character is written by Kanzi, Regular script.

 

Etymology :　It is Ideogrammic compound.　

　　　糸 (“string”) + 木 (“wood”)

There are many decorations at the time of the festival.

Eve the night festival, departure scene.

 

Floating roads, exciting scenes of street corner.

The steepest curves exciting scenes.

Traditional and artistic floats are all set
