The Distant Dream From the West to the East with " Faith " Japanese calligraphy



St. Francis Xavier memorial church. This Gothic church was built in 1931.  
It is called the Catholic Hirado church, too.

The inside of the church is plain structure and decoration. 
It is the simplicity that is good for the country side of the Far East.





We are respect St. Francis Xavier, still now.  
He is a missionary who spread Christianity for the first time in Japan.

Frugal build seems to represent a solid faith.

There is the church on west hill Hirado-shi, Nagasaki Prefecture.
And St. Francis Xavier stand and looks at the west direction, Spain and Portugal.

He arrived at far away Japan in 1548. and, His sublime will have been handed down even now. 











" " (shin, or makoto). It is translated as believe, trust, faith, etc.
This character is written by Kanzi, Regular script.

   Etymology : Ideogrammic compound
    人 (man) + 言 (words or say)

Meaning and form of this character has been very well fusion. This character will feel the solemnity to us.

The cruising through elegant season with " Color " Japanese calligraphy



Harmony of shadow and shine attracts my mind. 
Gradation will be modulated very smooth, but slowly.

In Praise of Shadows " 陰翳礼讃 : In'ei Raisan "
it is an essay on Japanese aesthetics by the Japanese author and novelist Jun'ichirō Tanizaki.



あをによし 奈良人見むと 我が背子が  標(しめ)けむ黄葉(もみぢ) 地(つち)に落ちめやも
久米 広縄      万葉集 (7世紀後半から8世紀後半頃)

   "色" (shiki, or iro). It is translated as colour, shade, beauty, expression, etc.
   This character is written by Kanzi, Regular script.

   Etymology : hieroglyph or Semantic
    人 (man, person) + 卩 (kneel)

The state that a person is piled up, and have sex.
From sexual intercourse, I passed through the features, the complexion and reached a general meaning.

"Shiki" In the Buddhism, this meaning expresses all the material phenomena that are an object of the recognition.
It is a letter having a very profound meaning.






Thoughts of the Japanese for the fall has been well represented in this movie.

" Sky " Japanese calligraphy





""(sora, kū) It is translated as often translated as "Void", but also meaning sky, heaven, empty.

This character is written by Kanzi, Cursive script (East Asia).

Etymology : Phono-semantic compound
semantic  (holl)  + phonetic  (labour, work)


The ancient people may have imagined that it was opened a hole in the sky.

They would have a really magnificent design.

Breeze of autumn with " Wave " Japanese calligraphy



Soft season has come.
It is quiet and gentle.

Loneliness might be entertained.




Paddy and Lycoris radiata

Mark of harvest season approaching.
Color, and taste. It is the master of Japanese food.

The highest quality rice.



初秋や 海も青田も 一みどり 
松尾 芭蕉 (1644 – 1694)

Water, Soil, Regulation, etc.
The farmers have been the best work.

   " 波 " (ha, or nami). It is translated as waves, breakers, undulations, etc.
   This character is written by Kanzi, Semi-cursive script.

   Etymology : Phono-semantic compound
    semantic 氵 (water) + phonetic 皮 (skin).


   Rice is gently undulating.  Slowly and orderly.

We are flexible, and will continue to walk towards the future.
Japanese has created many traditions as unity populations from two thousand years ago.
Maybe in the tomorrow, too...






Expression of the rice terraces is so rich. Art of the four seasons.




Long history has been carved.  A lot of rice Terraces are extant in various places.
It seems to be like historical monuments. Farmers keep clean and cherish nature.

The coastline of that day with " Forever " Japanese calligraphy

   Etymology : Hieroglyph
    Appearance of the water to flow while divided. It means that it goes on longer.


   The form of this character is very elegant.
   It has the atmosphere such as flowing.







From north to south. Coastline of Japan show us a variety of views.
The wildly when there. And in silence when there.

This character reminds the smile of a child to me. And I feel the relaxed atmosphere.








すべての訓練は、当座は、喜ばしいものとは思われず、むしろ悲しいものと思われる。

Bless the May 11 Mother's Day with " Holy " Japanese calligraphy



The name of this hydrangea is "kaleidoscope" first shipped two years ago.
Highest award of the "2012-2013 Japan Flower Selection" was given to this flower varieties.

Delicate form. And, pale color.  Sublime breed improvement.




Family dedicate flowers to Mother's Day.
With great gratitude.

   This character is written by Kanzi, Regular script.

   Etymology : Phono-semantic compound
    耳 (ear) + 呈 (appear)


This character reminds the saints.
It has a noble impression.

May be because feel through the five senses.

Pure white like snow will melt in the sky.
Dynamism of life is full.

It penetrates into the heart of people.





The trace is memorized even if become extinct.
All will transmigrate.

The worry is unnecessary.





We may have forgotten something important.

   " 進 " (shin, or susumu). It is translated as advance, make progress, enter, etc.
   This character is written by Kanzi, Regular script.

   Etymology : Ideogrammic compound
    semantic 辵 (walk)  +  phonetic 隹 (bird)


We will not stay there forever.
It's impossible because the time is always moving forward.

remaind and stopped people is pathetic. Their growth will stop, too.
However, we will make progress, go to the future...
