The step to the daybreak
The ray will lead wandering heart to the future.
To warm breast of the mountains.
Severe but tender.
Bumpy, undulation way.
Roundabout, lost road.
Yes, the dream might have been a plaything of the fate.
Possibly the thorny distance might be joy.
Now and think, isn't so?
Faraway, the steps.
pulling a radish with the radish showing a direction (radish : Japanese white radish)
Kobayashi Issa (1763 - 1827)
The winter scenery of the farm village is described in this haiku.
Issa Kobayashi has a warm heart.
His sad fate adds to the depth of works still more.
They are very gentle mind.
Of course he doesn't exist anymore in the world.
However, his soul is eternity.
Even smoke of such high Mt. Fuji is going to go up to the top more.
It was fire of the thought of the love that I didn't stop rising forever.
Fujiwara no Ietaka (1158-1237) Shin Kokin Wakashū
To the direction of the rays.
There is Mount Fuji.
It is our heart, itself.

Hello
ReplyDeleteNice shots, ruma! Your snowscapes are really beautiful. It is very cold here. Is it so too in Kyushu? I'm a little surprised you have snow there because I thought it rarely snows in Kyushu. Please don't catch a cold.

Dear Ruma, There is something very moving and yet haunting about your photographs. I still think of the people there who have lost home and land and feel so angry with the owners who say they are not responsible for the horrors that occurred. I love the video! Thank you for sharing your heart and beauty. Carol

ReplyDeleteSo beautiful winter! Thank you for the great photos! And I really enjoy the video - just few seconds of the life of the great mountain!

Amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful pictures!

Being back home, a few days ago I climbed a small mountain, here in the city. It was snowing heavily and all I could hear was the sound of my breathing and the fresh snow crunching under my feet. All around, the nature was weaving magical, white lace. I felt like leaving in a Japanese stamp... and somehow, for a few hours, the snow brought our worlds a little closer. I'm thankful for that!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are very beautiful and your calligraphy has the gentleness of snow, dear ruma! One can almost feel the promising unknown still sleeping in the frost, at daybreak...
Warmest wishes from Romania,
roxana

Looking down Mt.Fuji and towns' lights from the high place is my first experience. Magical beauty made by sun rays overwhelmed me. The white severe world that Isa lived impressive. In that scean, the thorny distance make me some things. But I am a doting parent I wish children don't walk on the thorny distance.

Hello Ruma:I love your beautiful word and your beautiful Japan pictures!
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for Hanami 2012...
words are soft
ReplyDeletecome deep from the heart
bright as a sunny day
come early in the morning
come with calm rain
whisper as soft wind
at the sunset
make me happy as a child
playing with a kite
make me forget the pain
remind me
believe is not in vain...
Thanks for your visit and your words of gentleness and peace... Love from Brasil!!

ReplyDeleteMt Fuji is such a beautiful symbol of Japan. When I was in Tokyo for my brief five day visit, it wasn't so visible and, sadly, I didn't have time to get closer. I don't think I'll ever make it back to Japan so you will have to continue to help me enjoy all that I missed!
ReplyDeleteAlways a great work...
