"國" (koku, or kuni). It is translated as nation, country.
This character is written by Kanzi, Regular script.
Etymology : Phono-semantic compound
semantic 囗 (erect, proud) + phonetic 或 (or, either, else)
The country consists of various things.
Land, Nature, Animals, Plants, Human being, and pride, etc....
Dear Ruma, a question for You. Is this ideogram the ancient form of 国 or is 国 a different Kanji? This thing I never understood well.
